Gold and silver have intrinsic value and it’s not uncommon to include precious metals in your investment portfolio. Most commonly, gold or silver purchased for investment purposes will come in the form of bullion (usually in the form of bars or ingots) or coins, sometimes known as rounds.

Our certified buyers will help you understand the value of your bullion and coins and make the best offer of any buyer in the DC area. No matter when you purchased your coins and bullion and no matter your reasons for selling them, at Samuelson’s Buyers, we value discretion and your privacy.
In order to sell to one of our certified buyers, you’ll arrange to meet with us at our private, safe, secure office. We’re not open to the public and never sell out of our office. Instead we focus on evaluating your gold and offering you the best possible price.

What Types of Coins and Bullion Do You Buy?
We buy gold and silver bullion and coins in any quantity, weight, condition, and purity. In the past we’ve purchased gold and silver ingots and bars, as well as a variety of gold and silver coins, including golden eagles, buffalo nickels, silver dollars, and krugerrands, among other coins.
Whether you’re cashing in an investment, selling an inheritance or aren’t sure exactly what you have, get in touch with us. We can help you determine the provenance of your gold and silver coins and bullion and can evaluate their value.
How Do You Determine the Value of My Coins and Bullion?
When it comes to evaluating ingots and rounds, the most important factor is the current market price of gold and silver, which can fluctuate from day-to-day. We’ll take your bullion’s weight and purity into account and use the daily market price, also known as the spot price, to determine its value.
When evaluating coins, you should know that, their value as a collectible may exceed their value as a precious metal. This is highly dependent on the coin’s rarity and its condition (also known as grade). We’ll closely examine your coins and explain their history and help you understand whether their value lies in their collectibility or in the metal itself.
In order to accurately evaluate gold or silver bars, we may perform a few simple tests to determine their purity. You can help by bringing any supporting documents or certificates of authenticity that you may have.

About Samuelson’s Buyers
The history of Samuelson’s Buyers begins in Baltimore, Maryland in 1922. That’s when Milton Samuelson began buying gold, silver, diamonds, coins, and bullion. We’ve been a family-owned business ever since, with two successive generations taking over the business.
In the 1950s, Steve, Milton’s son, joined the business. He was followed by his own son Ron in 1990. Ron opened our Chevy Chase office.
For nearly 100 years, we’ve earned a reputation as a trustworthy, reputable buyer of gold, silver and other valuables throughout the Washington DC area.
We believe in doing things the old-fashioned way. We meet with you in person, explain our process, make a fair offer, shake your hand, and pay you right then and there. No waiting. No pressure. No hassles. Just business the way it was meant to be done.
Our process is safe and secure and has withstood the test of time. Most importantly, our clients love us! Here are two pleased reviews from Google+:
